It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving in Waterloo Region without the annual Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade! We have partnered with CTV Kitchener to bring your parade tradition HOME with the annual 1-hour special, proudly presented by Piller’s Fine Foods! It included a look back on previous parades, behind the scenes on one of Canada’s largest parades, and exciting footage of all your parade favourites! It also highlighted many of the floats, bands, and special guests that have been a part of the parade over the years, and a few new ones!
*Please note: there was not a physical parade*
Every year, dozens of volunteers walk along the parade route to collect money and food donations for the Onkel Hans Food Drive in support of the Food Bank of Waterloo Region. In lieu of in-person donations this year, we ask that you consider making your donation directly to the Food Bank.
We acknowledge that the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Inc. Head Office is situated on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee Peoples. We also acknowledge that the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest community festival takes place on this traditional territory. It is the settlers of this traditional territory whose cultural roots we celebrate during Oktoberfest. We also recognize and respect the cultural diversity that First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people bring to our community and recognize their past and present contributions to this land.
