LederGOsen Line to
K-W Oktoberfest
Welcome aboard the LederGOsen Line to K-W Oktoberfest
We’re delighted you’ve decided to say Hallo Oktoberfest and join us on board the Go Transit’s Special LederGOsen Line. Onkel Hans is waiting to meet you upon arrival at the Kitchener Station, or Bavaria as we like to call it this weekend.
The sounds of accordion music are filling the air at Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest and steins of cold beer are waiting for the first notes of Ein Prosit. Visitors and locals alike are gathering, donning their Tracht (lederhosen, dirndl or new merch!), raising a stein and polkaing around, being Bavarian.
In the meantime, we’ve curated a selection of videos to help you decide what to eat, highlights of what’s happening in the Willkommen Platz including a PDF map, and some tunes from The Golden Keys to help get you ready to polka around. So sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Before you know it, you’ll be in the heart of the action saying, Ich liebe Oktoberfest (I love Oktoberfest).
Hallo Oktoberfest
The Willkommen Platz is the heart of the action today with bustling Biergarten, Weiss Blau, Walter Ostanek, Always on Friday, The Boo Radley Project and My Son the Hurricane taking to the mainstage throughout the day and into the evening,
Sixty vendors in our Bavarian market provide the perfect opportunity to grab some unique souvenirs including Idle & Wood Candle Co’s Oktoberfest-themed candles (with a portion of proceeds going to our local food bank) and some of Snicklefritz Kitchen’s Oktoberfest mustard, perfect on a sausage or for dipping vegetables.
Don’t miss Willkommen Platz:
- Snyder’s of Hanover pretzel flights
- Samples from Turkey Farmers of Ontario, IKEA, King’s Hawaiian Buns, Tim Horton’s & more!
- Stopping by one of our selfie stations to print a wearable pin of your time at K-W Oktoberfest
- Purchasing Oktoberfest swag from Hans Haus
- Climbing wall sponsored by Grand River Transit
- Games, contests and more!
Das ist lecker, or, that’s delicious
Inside the Biergartens, Erdinger and six of our Ontario craft bier partners will be slinging brews which pair perfectly with Oktoberfest beer nuts, traditional schnitzel, sausage on a bun and even the new Oktoberfest poutine (das ist seriously lecker) as you raise a stein and polka around. The space will be buzzing until well after the sun sets.
