Tova Davidson leads Sustainable Waterloo Region, under the Board of Directors. She brings her experience in public relations and communications to creatively approach sustainability opportunities.

Paired with her business background, Tova is uniquely qualified to collaborate with organizations in Waterloo Region to help drive change locally and provincially. A former recipient of the City of Guelph Mayor’s Award of Excellence and member of the Guelph Mercury’s Top 40 Under 40, Tova always leads by example while inspiring others to do the same. Tova is also Vice Chair of the board of Canadian Arab Women’s Association, on the IWF committee. She used to sit on the board and be a women’s entrepreneurship mentor for Boundless Accelerator, YWCA recruitment committee, Mentor for the Local Immigration Partnership, to name a few. She is also a dance teacher (arabic and latin) and group fitness instructor.

Alex Szaflarska is a founding Worker-Owner at Together We’re Bitter Co-operative Brewing (TWB), one of nine who currently work together to run the brewery. She is also a founding member of Union: Sustainable Development Co-operative, and a director at Your Neighbourhood Credit Union. She teaches Introduction to Social Enterprise at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she has been an instructor for over five years. 

Kim Wilhelm is the Chief Executive Officer of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, where she
leads one of Ontario’s largest food banking organizations. Working alongside more than 60
community organizations and over 120 food assistance programs, she is helping shape a
stronger, more collaborative food assistance network while advancing long-term solutions
to food insecurity across Waterloo Region.
With more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience, Kim has built a career focused on strategic leadership, fundraising, governance, organizational transformation, and
community partnerships. Prior to joining The Food Bank in 2016, she spent nearly two
decades in healthcare philanthropy, leading major fundraising initiatives and helping
organizations strengthen their long-term sustainability.
Known for her collaborative leadership style, Kim works across sectors to bring together
governments, businesses, community organizations, and funders to address complex
social challenges. She is passionate about building high-performing teams, strengthening
organizational culture, using data to drive decision-making, and ensuring nonprofit
organizations remain sustainable and responsive to the communities they serve. She is also an active voice in conversations around food insecurity, poverty reduction, nonprofit
leadership, and cross-sector collaboration.
Kim’s leadership has been recognized with the King Charles III Coronation Medal and the
2025 Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Rogers Women of the Year – Professional (40+)
Award, recognizing her contributions to Waterloo Region and the nonprofit sector.
A lifelong resident of Waterloo Region, Kim lives with her husband, Steve, and their two
sons. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, cooking, tackling DIY projects, and spending
weekends at the hockey rink supporting her family.
