Nominations for the prestigious awards, which will be presented at The Waterloo Inn on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, are sought in eight categories: Arts & Culture, Community Service, Entrepreneur, Health & Wellness, Lifetime Achievement, Professional, Sports & Recreation, and Young Adult.
Nomination forms can be found online at www.oktoberfest.ca or by visiting the K-W Oktoberfest Inc. office at 17 Benton Street, Kitchener. The deadline for nominations is July 27, 2012.
Mark Kreller, Executive Director of K-W Oktoberfest Inc., encourages members of the community to honour an outstanding woman by nominating her for one of the prestigious awards.
“Our community is fortunate to have a great number of fabulous women who contribute, achieve and inspire every single day. These awards are an opportunity to give them the accolades they so richly deserve. These awards are handed out each year so that we can shine a light on those who embrace change, demonstrate initiative, or generally have a positive impact on our community.â€
"The K-W Oktoberfest Women of the Year event continues to grow every year and we are proud of our association with this prestigious recognition of all the amazing women in our community. It is always an inspiring evening,†said Mike Collins, General Manager of the Rogers Kitchener Radio Group.
Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest will run from October 5 – 13, 2012.
