2012 Media Meister
The Media Meister is the winner of a challenge for radio stations to get creative and come up with a Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest version of a popular song that reflects the genre of their station. Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest will announce the 2012 Media Meister, and the Parade Grand Marshal for the 2012 Thanksgiving Day Parade on Wednesday September 26th, 2012!

Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest and SNAP KW will partner once again this year for the "Faces of the Festival" contest. SNAP KW will visit all of the festhalls & cover Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest events throughout the city, taking photos of all the faces of the festival!

Kick-off the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade by participating in the 4th annual Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest 5K Fun Run! Top male and female finishers are whisked away to ride in the Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade!
Register as a Family for $100! Family Team Fee includes registration for four people and tickets to Family Day at Altes Muenchen Haus after the race! (Value of $140!)
Register Your Corporate Team for $150 Corporate Team Fee includes registrations for four people, four tickets to Hospitality Night at Concordia Club (Oct. 10) and your team name printed on the back of your shirt (if registration is received before Sept. 4).
People's Choice Float - Text To Vote
Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest and the Thanksgiving Day Parade have gone wireless. For the third year in a row the 150,000 spectators at the Thanksgiving Day Parade will be able to text in their votes for the People's Choice Float Award.
Congratulations to the Pirate Ship Float, sponsored by the Stag Shop ~ the winner of the 2011 People's Choice Float Award!
Spectators simply text the code on the sides of each of the floats to 54500 to cast their vote for the interactive award, and they can vote as many times as they want! The voter will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to fly with WestJet - to be drawn after the festival.
