On June 3rd, 2009 the Recording Academy announced that the Grammy Awards had eliminated the BEST POLKA ALBUM category.
At Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest we strongly believe that polka is a genre of music with a rich history and an important place in the current musical landscape. We feel that Polka Music and its artists deserve a place at the Grammy Awards!
Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest encourages you to HELP SAVE THE POLKA! You can do this in three simple steps!
