The Pride of Kitchener-Waterloo  It has often been said that everyone loves a parade and those in attendance at our annual Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade are no exception. Thousands of people line the parade route each year to see the floats, bands and special entries that are part of this annual event.
Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest features one of the most spectacular Thanksgiving Day Parades in Canada. Join over 150,000 Fest-goers as they line King Street on Thanksgiving morning, eagerly awaiting the colourful floats, clowns and award winning marching bands from Canada and the United States. Parade begins in downtown Waterloo at 8:30 am.
 Tune into our media partners, CTV, 105.3 KOOL FM/KFUN 99.5 FM, 96.7 CHYM FM/570 News and CKWR FM98.5 for details. The Parade route, lined with an enthusiastic audience covers 5 km from King and Erb Streets in Waterloo to King and Madison streets in Kitchener. If you can't join us in person, the CTV network broadcasts the Parade nationwide. Check your TV listings for the airing time in your location.

Text your vote for People's Choice Float!
For the first time in the 41 year history of the Festival,
the 150,000 spectators at the Thanksgiving Day Parade will be able to text in their votes for the newly created People’s Choice Float.
Spectators simply text the code on the sides of each of the floats (eg: HANS12) to 71212 to cast their vote for the
interactive award, and they can vote as many times as they want! The voter will receive a return text message with a coupon code to receive $5.00 off at Hans Haus Online, the festival’s newly launched online souvenir store. Voters will also be entered into a draw for a Blackberry Bold, to be drawn after the festival. A $0.50 charge applies.

Share in the spirit of Thanksgiving by helping the community with the Onkel Hans Food Drive that will take place along the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade. Please bring your non-perishable food items to the Parade and volunteers will gladly pick them up along the parade route.
